Emergency & Support Vehicle on the job!
Yesterday, Dwight Lagore and Rick Neufeld went to Beira to pick up the mission’s new emergency and support vehicle. It arrived at the mission after dark last night so had to wait until this morning for its “unveiling” during staff devotion time at 7:00 a.m.
There was lots of excitement in the air since this vehicle has been on the “much needed” list for quite some time. It was welcomed with prayers of thanksgiving, clapping, singing, dancing, and getting right to work, of course!
A business trip to town and 2 sick calls in the community ensured the vehicle didn’t feel idle just sitting around looking pretty and smelling of new vinyl for too long.
Socorristas (health workers) Ernesto and Joao G. (bottom right) on a home visit with me (Lynn) this afternoon.
At the end of the day, the vehicle still smells of vinyl inside, but its shine now reveals a layer of bonafide bush dust, fire smoke, and finger prints too. That’s ok though since work got done, the sick were tended to, and hearts encouraged as well. We are so thankful to God and to those who gave toward this amazing tool…thank you!
Good Day 1 on the job, and welcome to the bush, New Little Toyota!
